Boca de Tomatlán is a dreamy fishing village only thirty minutes south of Puerto Vallarta, set against the natural terrain of beach, river, mountains, and jungle. The town attracts travelers looking for the famous hikes to Colomitos, Las Animas, and Quimixto — gorgeous little beaches to the south, accessible by foot or water taxis. Swimming, fishing, snorkeling, whale watching, diving, kayaking, and zip lining tours are easily arranged. Boca is a friendly little beach and fishing town, with infectious charm and an unmatched ambience of natural beauty. If you are looking for a spot away from the bustling crowds of Vallarta but close enough to enjoy a night out, Boca de Tomatlán is an excellent choice.

Our Place

The town of Boca de Tomatlán is bisected by a river and Casa Cereza is accessed via a pedestrian bridge. This side of the river is gently shaded by mountains and jungle. Our property is a small intimate estate consisting of our living space and three apartments, each with their own personality and decor, indoor and outdoor dining area, and spacious interconnected patio areas. Although each apartment has its own defined outdoor space, we strive to create a space of cordiality, peaceful ambiance, and casual interaction. For more about us, the town, and the surrounding areas — visit our About Page.

Accessibility: The roads into town are not all paved and our house is accessed via pedestrian bridges (some are temporary) that cross the river. The paths to get to our units are on uneven terrain and the town is rustic — all of these conditions create significant challenges to anyone with mobility issues or those using mobility aids.

Our Apartments

A scenic coastal view with small fishing boats docked in a calm bay. The waterside walkway is lined with palm trees, and lush green hills are visible in the background. The sky is clear and sunny, suggesting a tropical climate.

“Cherry and Nick's place is a little paradise! It was private, but with some communal areas to meet other guests. The balcony off our room was dreamy and private, with beautiful leafy vines shielding us from view. We spent mornings and nights out on that balcony in the hammock and at the table listening to the birds chirp and watching people cross the bridge over the river. Cherry and Nick are such gracious hosts and obviously put a lot of love and care into this place. Thank you so much, we will surely be back!” - Erina
